Title of the position: Cognos 8 Developer
Work Location: Shanghai
Department: Business Intelligence Systems, Global Information Systems
Reports to: Manager, Business Intelligence Systems

Summary of Duties

The candidate will be on a growing team of software development and support resources supporting new development and ongoing

maintenance of its Cognos 8 platform, consisting of Report Studio, Analysis Studio, Event Studio and Powerplay web client.

Developer needs to be familiar with all facets of Cognos 8 and Report Net development and posses experience in both Oracle

PL/SQL and Transact SQL via Sybase or Microsoft SQL Server. Additional experience developing Cognos 8 reports and frameworks

and reports utilizing an Oracle data warehouse is a plus.
In This role the candidate will be working on exciting new development projects for Finance, Sales, Customer Service and

operations globally. The position will be involved both in new development as well as supporting existing applications on a

diverse multinational team.

Qualifications
---Minimum 3 years total full time work experience in areas of application development ? web based or client server

utilizing Oracle or Sybase SQL Server, including Cognos report development.
---Minimum 2 years experience development with Cognos 8 or Cognos 7 Report Net in an environment with 50 or more

users.
---University degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
---Experience designing and developing reports based on complex business requirements.
---Familiarity with SDLC methodologies.
---Must have good command of English language including both written and verbal communication.
Proven experience working with transnational team of US or European members.

Required Experience

---2+ years Cognos 8 / Report net development experience including strong Framework manager, Transformer and Report

Studio development skills required.
---Proven track record delivering Cognos frameworks and reports to users at all organization levels in various

business areas such as Operations, Finance, Sales, and Customer Service.
---2+ years experience using version control software such as Star Team or Visual Source Safe in a multi developer

environment.
---Technical knowledge of Data warehousing, ETL and metadata.
---Must possess the following functional and people skills

---Ability to communicate with US and European based co-workers

Desired Experience

Cognos 8 administration and configuration.
Cognos 8 framework development utilizing an Oracle 10G Data Warehouse.
Developing and deploying Cognos 8 Metrics and Event Studio reports.
Developing custom pages and functionality utilizing the Cognos 8 SDK.
Active Directory Integration with Cognos 8.
Previous experience in Conferencing or Telecommunications.
